SUBJECT: CCMA RUSTENBURG REGIONAL OFFICE’S OPERATIONS SUSPENDED FOLLOWING A SHOOTING INCIDENT

The Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) suspended operations today, 19 August 2021, at its Rustenburg Regional Office situated at 43-45 Boom Street after a shooting incident that occurred earlier today outside its offices.

At the time of issuing this statement, the CCMA remained unaware of the events leading up to the incident. Further details will be communicated in due course.

All cases that were scheduled for today, 19 August 2021 were re-scheduled, however, cases scheduled for hearing in alternative venues outside the above-mentioned Regional Office proceeded as scheduled.

The office will resume operations tomorrow, 20 August 2021.
