SUBJECT: CCMA DISTANCES ITSELF FROM THE FACILITATION OF MULTIPARTY PACT TALKS

The Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) wishes to affirm that it was not consulted in the drafting of the article published by News24 on 3 August 2023, entitled, “Professor William Gumede appointed to chair multiparty pact talks aimed at unseating ANC”.

The aforementioned article suggests that Professor Gumede will run the process together with Commission of Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA)’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ms. Nerine Kahn. The CCMA would like to bring to the attention of the Media and all stakeholders that Ms Nerine Kahn ceased to be the CEO/Director of the CCMA during December 2015, and as such, cannot be representing the CCMA on any platform.

Adv. Cameron Sello Morajane is the current Director of the CCMA and he is not party to facilitating these multiparty pact talks with Professor Gumede. The CCMA, directly or indirectly, has no linkage with these multiparty pact talks and the CCMA categorically distances itself from same.
