The CCMA Governing Body announces the appointment of Mr Cameron Morajane as the New Director of the CCMA

It is with great pleasure that Mr Daniel Dube, the Chairperson of the Governing Body of the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA), on behalf of the Governing Body of the CCMA announces the appointment of Mr Cameron Morajane as the new Director of the CCMA, effective from the 1 April 2016.

Mr Morajane comes from within the ranks of the CCMA, having served as a Commissioner since 2012 and then as the National Senior Commissioner: Legal Services from 2014 prior to this appointment. Before joining the CCMA Mr Morajane was the National Legal Co-ordinator for the National Education, Health and Allied Workers Union (NEHAWU) having come from private practice.  

It is this unique blend of experience and expertise gained from practising in the private sector and serving the trade union movement, which was further honed in the hearing rooms of the CCMA as a Commissioner that Mr Morajane will bring to the directorship of the CCMA.

The Chairperson of the Board Mr Daniel Dube, in congratulated Mr Morajane on his appointment and welcomed him on behalf of the Governing Body of the CCMA, “ Having served the CCMA since 2012, Mr Morajane already has been instrumental in setting the new strategic direction of the CCMA. We are confident that under his leadership the CCMA is well positioned to take up the challenges of the future, will strengthen service delivery and continue to make a significant difference in the labour market”.  

Short Biography of Mr Cameron Morajane 

Mr Cameron Morajane attended Ratanda Secondary School in Heidelberg, matriculating in 1991. Mr Morajane was awarded a B Juris in 1998, LLB in 2001 and a LLM specialising in Labour Law in 2008 all from UNISA. Mr Morajane has completed a Diploma in ADR and a postgraduate diploma in corporate law. Mr Morajane held various positions in private practise between 1998 – 2004 when he joined NEHAWU to head up their legal services, as the National Co-ordinator Legal. In 2012 Mr Morajane joined the CCMA as a Senior Commissioner and in 2014 he was appointed as the CCMA National Senior Commissioner : Legal Services, Prior to him being appointed as the Director of the CCMA effective from the 1 April 2016, Mr Morajane had been Acting Director of the CCMA. Mr Morajane is married and has four children.
