The CCMA has offered assistance to the Public Service Co-ordinating Bargaining Council regarding the public service dispute. It was noted that a dispute arose in the negotiations between the employer and unions in the public service sector.

Since the dispute is of national interest, the CCMA is obliged to offer assistance in terms of section 150 of the Labour Relations Act. The CCMA will only intervene in the matter if all parties accept the offer of assistance.
