HEADLINE: SOUTH AFRICAN AIRWAYS DISPUTE SETTLED UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE CCMA
The CCMA is pleased to announce that the wage dispute between South African Airways (SAA) and the unions SACCA and NUMSA, has been resolved. The mediated process that was re- convened on Wednesday, 20 November 2019, resulted in an agreement being signed at midday today, 22 November 2019.The CCMA will also ensure that it will continue to provide post dispute support to the parties, in order assist them to work through some of the identified underlying issues and challenges. This is important for building workplace relations for labour peace.
The CCMA Director, Mr Cameron Morajane, takes the opportunity to commend the parties for remaining in process and restoring some measure of stability. The Director also commends the commitment of CCMA Commissioners who mediated this process. The CCMA remains committed to making a difference in the labour market, as intended by the CCMA’s Senz’umehluko Strategy.
